About us:
AskNow is a project of the Metropolitan Cooperative Library System (MCLS), supported by Federal LSTA funding, administered by the California State Library. MCLS is an association of 31 independent city and special district public libraries located in the greater Los Angeles area, which have agreed to cooperate in providing library service to the residents of all participating jurisdictions. MCLS provides member libraries a resource-sharing network and a means for enhancing the level and diversity of resources available to library users, while reducing duplication of effort. Member libraries of the Council of California County Law Librarians and the California State Law Library are also participating in AskNow by answering legal reference questions.
